Setting up the USB-Dongle
Before starting the TAP program for the first time the driver for the USB dongle has to be finally installed. To do so connect the included USB dongle with your computer after the actual program installation is complete. Right after Windows should present a notification about new Hardware:
Windows XP:

Windows Vista/7:

After a while the driver installation is finished and additionally a LED light at the end of the USB Dongle indicates the operational availability:

With Windows Vista and Windows 7 you can watch the progress of the installation by clicking on the status message popup:

With Windows 7 it's advisable to skip the download of the driver installation files at this point (Windows 7 searches online for drivers at first), because on the one hand the installation process will be delayed significantly, on the other hand there are problems with the driver version 5.95 currently delivered by Windows Update.
(Update: In the meantime new drivers version 6.23 are available via Windows Update, which don't show any problems anymore).
