Demo versions

You may download demo versions of our programs via the following links:

These versions are identical with the full versions except for the following points:

  • The demo version only allows the execution of pretests; a start of the test itself and the saving of test results is not possible
  • Instead of the external reaction keys keyboard keys are used (key "1" for reaction key "1"; key "8" for reaction key "2")
  • There is some exemplary data build into the demo version which can be used for testing the result output

Data conversion TAP 1.7 - TAP 2.x

To make data evaluable with the Windows TAP which has been collected with TAP 1.7, you may download a conversion program for the raw data files via the following link:

Manuals/Documents

The manuals refer to the current version of TAP 2.3, KiTAP 1.5 and TAP-M 1.3 with support for reaction keys with USB adpater.
The installation instruction for older versions is available here.

  • Installation instructions for the TAP programs (complete)

Performing a first time setup of TAP, KiTAP or TAP-M it is recommended to follow the installation steps described in this document.

    • Initial installation procedure

This document describes the procedure of an initial installation in detail.

    • Using Windows Vista/Windows 7

Using the TAP programs under Windows Vista/Windows 7 there is the problem that the real-time priority for the subtests is refused while working with an administrative account (in spite of a correct setup of the TAP group) - working with a user account the behaviour is trouble-free by analogy with 2000 and XP!
By an additional setting as described in this document - which has to be done only once - this somehow illogical behaviour can be bypassed.

    • Setting up the USB dongle

During installation only general driver files are stored. The final setup steps are described in this document.

    • Setting up the USB serial adapter

During installation only general driver files are stored. The final setup steps are described in this document.

    • First Start

After the first start some more steps should be performed as described in this document.

    • Setting up the TAP group

To use the real-time priority of the subtests even with windows user accounts which have limited rights a TAP user group is set up during installation. Local user accounts are available during installation; network user accounts of a Windows domain have to be added manually.
The procedure is described in this document.

  • Installation of an additional parallel port

With the current versions a manual setup is no longer necessary; available parallel ports are configured automatically during program start.
For operating older versions of the TAP programs after upgrading your PC (with a PCI/PCIExpress card) or laptop (with a PCMCIA/Express card) a few more steps have to be done.
You' ll find details in the document Installation of an additional parallel port.

  • Test identifiers: Comparison TAP 1.7 - 2.0/2.1/2.2

In this document you'll find a list of the test identifiers for the several subtests of TAP 1.7 and TAP 2.x.

  • Downgrad of the Prolific USB-serial-drivers

The current drivers for the USB-serial-adpater are causing problems with the current version 1.90 (as of 03/2014). You can find further information in this document.

Remote maintenance - customer module

If you experience problems with installing, setup or running the TAP programs, we'll be able to assist via remote maintenance; the computer in question needs, however, a working internet connection.
For the remote maintenance itself the software "Teamviewer" (version 8) would be used (s. vendor homepage for more information on security and mode of operation of the program).
An appropriate customer module (which doesn't require a separate installation and also works for an user account with limited rights) is also available for download.
Special settings for routers, firewalls, etc. are not necessary, because an encrypted connection is established via servers of the vendor.

TVicHW32 error message - Registry file

For the error message described in the FAQ you'll find a registry file here to correct the problem. Please refer to the enclosed "readme.txt" for details.

Drivers for Hardlock- and HASP-Dongle

The drivers for the USB and (with older versions) parallel port dongle respectively are enclosed in the TAP installation programs and are installed automatically during a standard setup. In some cases a driver update may be necessary; therefore in the following the according links:

HASP driver (graphical installation, suitable for Hardlock as well as HASP), version 6.60 (August 2013):
